Frequently Asked Questions

COMPANY & BOOKING / SERVICE AREA

How do I get a quote and how fast can you schedule?

Most jobs start with a quick call to (506) 802-1313 or submitting our contact form with: location, drawings/photos, cut/core size (Ø/depth/length), floor/wall thickness, and timeline. We return a price same day for standard concrete coring/cutting in Moncton, Fredericton, and Saint John. Typical lead time is 24–72 hours; same-day coring slots are often available for trades. Larger wall saw or wire saw projects are scheduled after a brief site walk.

Do you handle residential as well as commercial projects?

Yes. We cut basement windows/egress openings, sump pits, floor drains, and small trenching for homeowners, and we handle commercial/industrial retrofits for GCs and trades across New Brunswick.

What areas do you service and how far will you travel?

Primary coverage is Moncton, Fredericton, and Saint John, with projects across New Brunswick. We also consider nearby Maritime work on request—share scope, location, and timeline for travel pricing.

CONCRETE CUTTING

What concrete cutting services do you offer in Moncton?

Slab sawing, wall sawing, hand sawing, and wire sawing for door/window openings, trenching, expansion joints, selective demolition, and asphalt cutting. We service Moncton, Fredericton, Saint John, and projects across New Brunswick.

How accurate are your cuts and how thick can you cut?

Typical tolerance is ±5 mm with tracked saws. Wall-saw depths up to 24–30" depending on setup; slab-saw depth 10–12" per pass. For thicker/heavily reinforced sections or odd shapes, we switch to wire sawing.

Do you cut asphalt as well as concrete?

Yes. We saw asphalt for utility trenches, patches, and road crossings. Traffic control can be arranged on request.

CONCRETE CORING

Do you provide same-day coring?

Yes—limited same-day coring slots are held for trades. Call before 10:00 a.m. when possible with core Ø, depth, location, and access notes so we can mobilize quickly.

What diameters and depths can you core?

We core from 1" to 24"+ diameters and to 3 m+ depth with barrel extensions (access dependent). Horizontal, vertical, overhead, and angled coring are all available.

Do you supply sleeves and handle firestopping?

We can supply PVC or steel sleeves and set them during coring. Firestopping is typically by others; we’ll coordinate with your chosen vendor and provide opening details.

GPR CONCRETE SCANNING & SAFETY

Do you scan before cutting or coring? What’s your safety procedure?

Yes. Our standard workflow is GPR concrete scanning → mark-out → cut/core. We locate rebar, PT cables, conduits, and voids, then confirm water/electrical controls and barriers. Crews follow lock-out, silica and slurry containment procedures, and a signed Job Safety Analysis. Scanning reduces strikes, change orders, and downtime—critical on commercial renovations and residential basements alike.

Can you work near sensitive areas or live utilities?

Yes—after GPR scanning and mark-out. We use wet methods, containment, controlled feeds, and low-vibration techniques. Where needed, we coordinate off-hours for hospitals, retail, and occupied spaces.

LOGISTICS, SITE PREP & CLEANUP

What site prep do you need from us?

Clear the work area, mark utilities and “no-cut” zones, and confirm power/water access (or request us to bring supply). Protect nearby equipment/finishes; we’ll add poly, HEPA vacuums, and slurry containment as needed. For interior work: ensure ventilation and elevator access time. For exterior cuts: confirm utility locates and vehicle access. If anything’s missing, we can supply water, power, and wet vacs—just mention it during booking.

How do you control dust, water, noise, and cleanup?

We use wet cutting/coring with continuous water feed, HEPA vacuums, and slurry containment to meet silica best practices. Noise is typical of saws and drills; we coordinate quiet hours on active sites. After cutting, we remove slurry, cap cores, and leave the area tidy. Disposal of concrete spoils can be handled by us or by the GC—confirm preference when you book.

What access and utilities do you need onsite?

Clear path to the work area, confirmed power and water (or request us to supply), ventilation for interior work, and elevator/door clearance as needed. For exterior cuts, confirm vehicle access and traffic control needs.

Do you remove and dispose of concrete spoils?

Yes. We break out, load, and haul slab sections, cores, and wall panels. Slurry is contained and removed or left onsite per contract. Let us know if you prefer GC-handled disposal.

Can you document the work after completion?

Yes. We can provide a photo log, marked locations, and a brief report (e.g., scan marks, core IDs, sizes, and elevations) to simplify closeout and as-builts.

PRICING, PAYMENT & COMPLIANCE

How is pricing calculated for concrete cutting and coring?

Quotes are based on: access and mobilization, cut length (slab/wall saw), core diameter & depth, concrete/asphalt type, reinforcement, slurry disposal, and off-hours needs. We have a small minimum charge for short cores and hand saw cuts. Provide drawings and photos for the most accurate price. For ongoing projects, we can set unit rates (e.g., per core size per floor) to speed approvals.

What are your payment terms?

E-transfer or credit card for homeowners; NET-30 for approved contractors (PO required). Invoices include line items for cutting/coring, mobilization, disposal, and any off-hours premiums.

Who handles permits, engineering, and utility locates?

The owner/GC is responsible for permits, engineering (e.g., load-bearing openings/egress windows), and exterior utility locates. We’ll provide method statements and dimensions and can refer local engineers.
